Highland Archive Service talk on Inverness Field Club collection
Added on 28 May 2021
We have been made aware that Highland Archive Service will be making a presentation about the collection of records deposited by Inverness Field Club with the archive, part of its ‘Learn with Lorna’ series of live talks on Facebook.
The presentation (by Lorna Steele, Community Engagement Officer with Highland Archive Service) will include details about the formation of the Field Club, its aims and ambitions, and will give a description of what can be found in the collection. Lorna will also read extracts from outings, expeditions and lecture notes.
Highland Archive Service will be promoting the continued existence of the Inverness Field Club and will encourage people to come and explore the collection.Perhaps it will also encourage people tp join the Field Club - we can but hope.
The live talk will be going out on Thursday 3rd June 2021 at 11am.
Interest in the event can be registered on the Events tab of the Highland Archive Service Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/highlandarchives/events/?ref=page_internal which will then generate a reminder when the film goes live. Alternatively, all ‘Learn with Lorna’ talks, 61 so far, are uploaded to YouTube after the event and can be viewed there:
