- Country Life
- Dark Age and Medieval History
- Geography and Environment

- People and Places
- Scottish History
- Social and Economic History
The Bursary is worth £1,000 and is normally paid in two instalments.
Applicants will be required to submit a written case for consideration, a career history and the names of two referees - one of whom should have a good knowledge of the applicant's academic ability and competence to carry out the research. Applicants should be prepared to offer themselves for interview if required to do so. The Council expects each project to be completed within two years and the recipient of the Award to give a lecture to members of the Inverness Field Club within this time limit, together with fully sourced notes.
